Introduction
Entrypoint is a platform that allows users to trade tokenized indexes of cryptocurrencies and real-world assets. The platform aims to bridge the gap between traditional finance and decentralized finance by combining the efficiency and innovation of DeFi with the proven methodologies and trusted frameworks of traditional index providers. Entrypoint is a bespoke blockchain that streamlines the process of creating, issuing, and trading tokenized indexes on-chain, ensuring rigorous risk management and compliance with institutional-grade standards.
My Role
I'm was lead product designer of this project. I collaborated with developers, graphic designer and product managers throughout this project.
Challenge
Designing a DeFi platform for tokenized indexes presented challenges. Users, primarily investors, often struggled with the complexity of DeFi protocols, the fragmented nature of the ecosystem, and the lack of regulatory clarity. These factors created a significant barrier to entry for many potential users.
PROBLEM #1
Complexity of Tokenized Indexes
Users found it difficult to understand the concepts of tokenized indexes and their benefits.
Example
A user is unsure about the difference between a traditional index fund and a tokenized index, about the benefits of tokenizing an index and how it differs from simply owning the underlying assets.
Impact
To address the complexity of tokenized indexes, we create simplified explainers, offer personalized guidance, and leverage case studies. By breaking down complex concepts, providing tailored support, and showcasing real-world examples, we can help users better understand the benefits and potential of tokenized indexes.
PROBLEM #2
Fragmentation of the DeFi Ecosystem
The DeFi ecosystem was highly fragmented, requiring users to interact with multiple platforms and wallets.
Example
A user needs to use multiple platforms and wallets to interact with different DeFi protocols. This creates a cumbersome and time-consuming experience.
Impact
To overcome the fragmentation of the DeFi ecosystem, we can develop a unified platform and offer a curated selection of protocols. By providing a centralized interface, fostering interoperability, and simplifying the decision-making process, we can create a more seamless and user-friendly experience for users.

Regulatory Uncertainty
The lack of clear regulatory guidelines created uncertainty for investors and hindered adoption.
Example
An investor is hesitant to invest in DeFi due to concerns about regulatory risks and potential legal issues.
Impact
To address regulatory uncertainty, we provide regular updates on regulatory developments, partner with regulated entities, offer compliance features, and educate users on best practices. By keeping users informed, enhancing credibility, and providing tools and guidance, we can help mitigate regulatory risks and foster investor confidence in the DeFi space.

Research
To gain a deep understanding of heavy blockchain users' needs and preferences, I conducted in-depth interviews with them. Additionally, I conducted thorough benchmarking and market research on decentralized exchanges (DEXs) to gain insights into industry trends and best practices. By mapping user flows and personally using various DEX platforms, I was able to identify key pain points and areas for improvement. Furthermore, I created a comprehensive comparison of different DEXs to highlight their unique features and identify potential gaps in the market. This research provided a solid foundation for designing a DeFi platform that effectively meets the needs of users and addresses the challenges of the industry.
Wireframing
Wireframing was instrumental in the design process for EntryPoint. By creating low-fidelity designs, I was able to visualize user flows, prioritize features, identify usability issues, communicate design concepts, and iterate on designs. The iteration ensured that the final product was both functional and user-friendly.
Deliverables
Personalized Dashboard
A personalized dashboard that shows users how their investments were performing and tracked their investment history. We also made it easier for users to invest in DeFi without having to use multiple platforms.
Secure Wallet Integration
Seamless integration with popular crypto wallets to ensure the safety of users' funds.
Regulatory Compliance
Adherence to relevant regulations, including KYC/AML requirements, to provide a secure and trustworthy platform.
Design Library
I established design principles to guide the overall look and feel of the platform, including elements such as typography and color palette. After this, I created a library of UI elements, along with design patterns and templates for common pages

Conclusion
We successfully showcased the potential of effective design in simplifying complex financial products. By prioritizing user needs and adhering to strict regulatory standards, we were able to create a DeFi platform that made the often intimidating world of tokenized indexes accessible to a wider audience.
While I unfortunately departed the project after delivering the final designs and the successful launch of the testnet phase, I am confident that the platform's intuitive interface, robust features, and strong educational foundation will continue to drive user adoption and contribute to the growth of the DeFi ecosystem. The metrics and insights gathered from real-world usage will undoubtedly provide valuable feedback for future iterations and enhancements.
